OUR CUSTOMER operates a number of highly efficient and automated bakeries throughout the world supplying the global fast food market.
Initially using a 25 micron film to wrap baked products Total Polyfilm carried out an extensive audit of the manufacturing operation and proposed a number of cost saving projects.
THROUGH THE PROCESS of laboratory analysis and machine trials Total Polyfilm have engineered a unique blend of resins that has resulted in the polythene film thickness reducing to 15 micron.
AS A RESULT Total Polyfilm now supplies all the UK polythene film requirements to this customer and was subsequently invited to commence a similar programme of development with bakeries in other European countries.
Once this programme is completed during 2009 then annual savings totalling £340,000 will have been achieved for our customer.
